Pippa Hart Bio

P

ippa Hart has been photographing her friends and family since the age of eight and has always had a special affinity with people. In 1999, she exchanged her bachelor desk job in London for married life in the country. This gave her the impetus to take up photography on a professional basis. The arrival of two baby girls provided ready and willing in-house models. Her special focus remains people, particularly portraits of children and family groups, reportage wedding photography, family parties and christenings. She favours black and white as a timeless way of capturing natural and informal expressions. The outdoors is best for this and, whenever possible, she chooses her home in Lee Gate as her studio. Her portfolio continues to grow and now encompasses a previous passion of hers: charities such as Save The Children, Treloar Trust and Merlin. Weddings and Charity Events have found her in Downing Street, The Tower of London and numerous other fabulous locations in the UK. On the less glamorous side of the business, her talents were also commandeered by the BBC to take stills for their documentary series, "Prisoner’s Families".

P

ippa’s appreciation for the dignity of childhood is the key to her portraiture. The children are allowed as much time as they need to relax. All children playing happily, with no performance pressure, have their own beauty and Pippa instinctively knows the moment to snap..

T

estimony to Pippa’s empathy with children are the fourteen godchildren which she has accrued in addition to her eight nieces and nephews and her own children, Daisy (12 ) and Freya (11). Two children and a highly personal and expanding business are a challenging mix, but backed by her husband Bryan, Pippa is free to give each assignment her concentrated attention whether on a weekday or weekend.
